Story: In a dystopian future America ruled by a military dictatorship, 100 teenage boys are selected to participate in a deadly annual contest called “The Long Walk”. The rules are simple: maintain a walking speed of at least three miles per hour. Anyone who falls below the required pace receives three warnings, after which they are executed. The last boy walking wins a prize that grants him anything he wants for the rest of his life. The story follows teenager Raymond Garraty and his fellow walkers as they form friendships and endure the brutal and emotionally draining ordeal.
